Safari de Aitana
Hace ya unas cuantas semanas, fui con Victor al Safari de Aitana. Es una experiencia fatnástica!! Está situado en la sierra alicantina, cerca de Alcoy, y alberga muchísimos animales diferentes, todos en libertad.
Some weeks ago I went with Victor to the Aitana´s Safari. It was such a great experiencie!! It is at the mountains, closed to Alcoy, and it has a lot of animals just walking around free.

Está tan solo a una hora y media de Murcia, así que se puede ir y volver en un solo día. La verdad es que fue difícil llegar, porque son carreteras de montaña y hay pocas indicaciones (aún con GPS nos perdimos) pero merece mucho la pena!!
It is just in a half hour drive from Murcia, so you can go and be back the same day. It is actually a little dificult to get there, because you have to take some muontain road, (we got lost even with GPS) but it is completelly worth!!

Nosotros fuimos a pasar el día, estuvimos de 12 a 5 y creo que fue el tiempo ideal. Te explico como lo hicimos: una vez allí, sacamos nuestra enrtada en una caseta. La entrada sólo cuesta 19 euros!! Aquí ya empezamos a sorprendernos: en la caseta de las entradas había una camita de perro, pero en lugar de un perro habia un osezno de pocas semanas tumbado! una monada!! =)
We went for a day, from 12 to 5 pm and it was the ideal time to spend there. This is what we did: once there, we got the tickets which are just 19 euros, so cheap!! And here we started to be surprised: instead of having a dog in a dog´s bed they had a little bear super cute!! =)

El safari tiene dos zonas: una zona más tipo zoo, en la que los animales están en grandes jaulas, siempre muy cuidados, y luego otra zona que es propiamente un safari. Es un recorrido enorme donde puedes ver todos los animales. Nosotros decidimos empezar por el safari.

El safari tiene dos zonas: una zona más tipo zoo, en la que los animales están en grandes jaulas, siempre muy cuidados, y luego otra zona que es propiamente un safari. Es un recorrido enorme donde puedes ver todos los animales. Nosotros decidimos empezar por el safari.
This safari has to sides, one side looks like a typical zoo, more for children, and the other side is a real safari. Is a big look to make in a car, where you can see all the animals. We decided to start here:
Mientras vas conduciendo puedes ver los animales con las ventanilas bajadas, salir del coche y pararte cuando quieras a hacer fotos, pero luego hay dos zonas más peligrosas, en las que hay tigres y leones. En esas zonas puedes pasar con el cohe, pero sin bajar las ventanillas ni parar. Es muy emocionante!
As you drive you can see the animals with open windows, go out of your car, and stop to take pictures, but then there is two dangerous parts where you can find tigers and lions. In those parts you can drive, but no open your windows or stop. It is so exciting!!
Tras hacer un primer recorrido de más o menos hora y media, vimos los pequeños animales de la zona de zoo, preparada para los más peques, y comimos nuestros bocadillos (también hay un restaurante, pero nosotros nos los llevamos).

A las tres en punto vino lo más interesante: la hora de comer para los animales. El safari ofrece una visita guiada gratuita en la que puede seguir con tu coche al cuidador y ayudarle a alimental a los animales mientras él cuenta datos muy interesantes. ¿Sabías que los dromedarios tienen colmillos y que las enzimas de su saliva puede ser mortal? Aprendí un montón de cosas!!
At 3´00 it comes the most interesting part: time to feed the animals. The safari offers a free guided visit where you can follow the guide in your car and stop to help him feed the animals. He tells a lot of interesting stuff, did you know that a dromedary´s bite can kill you because of his spit?
Este safari recoge algunos animales de otros zoos que han tenido problemas, y por ejemplo, tenía a dos tigres que fueron abandonados por un circo ruso en Lleida. Los tigres habían sido maltratados, y ahora estaban recibiendo un cuidado ejemplar. Realizan un trabajo único.

Los cuidadores nos comentaron que este safari no obtiene subvención , y por eso no pueden disponer de mucha publicidad, así que me gustaría ayudarles un poquito intentando informarte a tí, y a quien tú quieras informar, y si ya has ido, ¿por qué no te animas a compartir tu experiencia para ayudarles a recibir más visitantes? Es un trato excepcional tanto para visitantes como para los animales, y una experiencia única que recomiendo a todos!! Anímate! =)
The people who work there told as this safary doesn´t get any grant, so they can´t afford a lot of advertising, so I would like to help a little trying to inform you, and whoever you like to tell, and if you have already been there, why don´t you do the same and share your experience to help them to get visits? It is an excepcional deal , for us and for animals!! A unique experience!! Completely recommended!! =) Give it a try!
